Who is Beta Test?

We’re a small ensemble playing contemporary classical music, video game/geek soundtracks, and rock music.

Steven Lakawicz is a professional freelance tubist in the greater Philadelphia area. He is also the tuba instructor at Haverford College and an adjunct professor of statistics at Temple University.  His interests include vintage video games, the history of 8bit electronic music, and arranging.  He speaks about all things game music on his blog, Classical Gaming.

Doug Laustsen is a musician and educator residing in New Jersey. He is engaged in a variety of activities such as performing on trombone, composition, and hosting a weekly radio program on WRSU-FM.

Ellis Jasenovic is a NJ freelance performer and teacher. While not arranging music for Beta Test, he plays with other groups such as the Garden State Sax Quartet and Thank You Scientist. Halloween is his favorite holiday.

Justin Bulava is a NJ-born clarinetist, pianist, percussionist, composer and dreamer. He is most interested in indeterminate music, world music, improvisation and collaborative art.
